Confidentiality in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.
Face-to-Face, online, phone and written communication.
All counselling, hypnosis, hypnotherapy and psychotherapy sessions and the information we discuss is protected by rules of confidentiality. This means that none of the information we discuss can be shared with anyone else without prior permission. Therefore, no information that may identify you will be disclosed without your prior consent. For example, should it be necessary to contact your GP, your permission and knowing consent will be sought first. During supervision, key points from sessions may be discussed with a supervisor, however you will not be identifiable.
In the specific event that we are legally obliged to share information you will be advised as soon as possible. Full details of our Confidentiality Policy will be provided to you in advance of any meeting, so you know exactly where you stand.
Your role in confidentiality
In order to protect your information from getting in to the wrong hands, all counselling, hypnosis, hypnotherapy and psychotherapy sessions oblige you to also abide by the rules on confidentiality. Therefore, in order to protect yourself and your information you must not copy, record, live stream, or in any way make available any part of your therapy sessions. Make sure you protect yourself and your information by not sharing or making public any comments made, information discussed, or any other content of our therapy sessions together without having received prior written consent from Sussex Therapies & Hypnosis Ltd.
You are obliged to NEVER post or share on any social media platform any part of our sessions together, or to instruct, request or advise any third party to do likewise without the prior written consent of Sussex Therapies & Hypnosis Ltd.
In addition to confidentiality, effective hypnotherapy and psychotherapy requires you to disclose information about yourself. Details such as your name, address, as well information regarding the issues you’d like to work on are sensitive and should be protected. As such, we take our responsibility for the protection of your data very seriously. Therefore, we are registered with the ICO and have a Data Security policy.
